Art × attention × data by consent

How long does one look at an artwork last?

[PLACEHOLDER] Czas Patrzenia (“Time of Looking”) is a project by Sandra Daria Roman. Viewers who knowingly agree share what they look at, for how long, and what they pass on. From these signals — aggregated only — comes new knowledge about how art is experienced.

01 — About

The artist is the face. Viewers' attention is the material.

[PLACEHOLDER] Sandra Daria Roman creates works and content that gather an audience. Czas Patrzenia adds a layer of knowledge: how art is really experienced — not in declarations, but in time and gestures of attention.

[PLACEHOLDER] We do not build profiles for sale. We build an aggregate picture of reception that helps artists, galleries and brands understand viewers better.

02 — How it works

Four steps, each by consent

  1. Consent

[PLACEHOLDER] The viewer opts in within the app. Without consent nothing is recorded. Consent can be withdrawn at any time.

  2. Looking

[PLACEHOLDER] The app notes which works are viewed, for how long, and which are shared onward.

  3. Aggregation

[PLACEHOLDER] Signals are combined into aggregate patterns for groups of viewers; individual-level data is not shared with report recipients.

  4. Insight

[PLACEHOLDER] Artists, galleries and brands receive reports and visualisations of reception — not lists of people.

03 — For artists

See where the eye pauses

  • [PLACEHOLDER] Aggregate information on which works hold attention longer.
  • [PLACEHOLDER] Knowledge of what viewers want to show others.
  • [PLACEHOLDER] Material for conversations with curators and collectors.

04 — For galleries

An exhibition that tells the story of its reception

  • [PLACEHOLDER] An aggregated picture of how attention flows through an exhibition.
  • [PLACEHOLDER] Support in planning displays and programmes.
  • [PLACEHOLDER] A pilot with one exhibition — terms to be agreed.

05 — For brands

Aesthetics measured by attention, not clicks

  • [PLACEHOLDER] Aggregate reports on how visual motifs are received.
  • [PLACEHOLDER] Artistic collaborations based on Sandra's content.
  • [PLACEHOLDER] No data that could identify individuals.

06 — Data & privacy

The principles we start from

The points below are our stated design intentions, not a confirmation of legal compliance. Each requires legal review before launch. [TO BE CONFIRMED LEGALLY]

Opt-in only

We collect data only from people who have knowingly and voluntarily consented. No consent = no collection. Consent can be withdrawn as easily as it is given. [TO BE CONFIRMED LEGALLY]

Aggregation & anonymisation

Report recipients see aggregate data only, with minimum group-size thresholds so that no specific person can be singled out. [TO BE CONFIRMED LEGALLY]

We don't sell profiles

We do not sell, rent or transfer individual viewer profiles to anyone. [TO BE CONFIRMED LEGALLY]

Your rights (GDPR)

We intend to enable: access to data, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, portability, objection, and a complaint to the President of UODO (Polish data protection authority). [TO BE CONFIRMED LEGALLY]

Minimisation

We collect only what the described purpose needs, and keep it only for a defined time. Retention periods: [PLACEHOLDER]. [TO BE CONFIRMED LEGALLY]

Transparency

Data controller, legal basis, recipients and data contact: [PLACEHOLDER — to be completed in the privacy policy]. [TO BE CONFIRMED LEGALLY]
